It´s the most famous and most played game in casinos.
It´s derived from its French ancestor, the French roulette. The roulette came into existence in 17th century and it was invented by Blaise Pascal, French physician. His aim was to develop a “random numbers generator”. We can judge his achievement ourselves. The fact is that this gadget became favoured by people and it´s making its way to the casinos in all corners of the globe in essentially the same form up today. The roulette found the way to America, too. The immigrants coming to the country of unlimited opportunity brought it, of course, with them. And as in America everything happens somehow faster, in the run of years a special form of roulette – with fast tempo and fitted to the American lifestyle – developed.
The gaming- table is quite big, consisting of the playing field and the wheel. The dealer stands and deals the game with hands. The player wagers himself.
The wheel is divided into 37 slots with numbers 0 – 36 which, however, are not numerically organized. They are alternately placed on red and black slots. The exception is 0 (zero) which is in the green slot.
